Travis Scott Unclassified: 20 Little-Known Details About Kylie's Man

Something about Travis Scott straight-up exploded in 2018. The guy with the most swag in Hollywood is now rap's fastest-rising star, a dad to Stormi, and a boyfriend to Kylie Jenner– oh, and Kylie, that ring you've been spotted wearing, what does it mean?

In 2017, Rolling Stone called Travis Scott "hip-hop's king of chaos." While the Astroworld tours might create the wildest atmosphere ever, you're actually looking at one of the most grounded 26-year-olds around.

"Sicko mode" might be the lyrics, but if Kylie Jenner has picked you, chances are those words aren't the personality description. Admittedly, this couple didn't make much sense at first. Kylie was the spoiled teenager we knew from Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Handbag collections and all things cute seemed to sum her up.

Enter Travis Scott. With his dope dress sense and ultra-modern sound, Travis was the man Kylie would fall in love with. As Travis approaches the two-year mark with Forbes' "youngest self-made billionaire," it's probably time to learn about him.

"This [...] way too formal, ya'll know I don't follow suit/Stacey Dash, most of these girls ain't got a clue." We're girls. And we want to get clued up. Here are 20 little-known details about Travis Scott, the man who seems to have snagged Kylie's heart.

20 "We Felt Like This Is Something Special"

via: hiphople

Rappers have their reputation for racking up the babies – T.I. is a father of seven. Fetty Wap had seven by the age of 27. Travis opened up to Rolling Stone about being a dad to Stormi, we learned a few things (including that judging time is over).

"We felt like, This is something special. And kids are something we kind of talked about," Travis said about the brief weeks of dating before Kylie was pregnant.

Three weeks is The Daily Mail's report of how long Kylie and Travis were dating before they were pregnant.

19 "I Got To Propose In A Fire Way"

via: pinterest

These two are surrounded by engagement rumors. Kylie calls Travis "hubby" on Instagram. When it comes to marriage, Travis has openly said that it's a matter of "when," not "if." He told Rolling Stone:

"We'll get married soon. I just gotta sturdy up – I gotta propose in a fire way." Travis then called the relationship "rock-solid."

"Only got love for my wife," Seventeen reported Travis replying to an Instagram comment. The magazine also reports that Kylie and Travis have "split" the $13.45 million Californian mansion they purchased in 2018. This would literally be the biggest wedding ever.

18 Unsteady Beginnings

via: pinterest

Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and 50 Cent all grew up on hard times. Travis might be rolling in Lamborghinis now, but the beginnings were unsteady. Travis grew up in Houston, Texas.

While Travis called his neighborhood "middle class" during a Complex interview, he did outline the rift between himself and his parents.

"When I dropped out of school, it was the worst, man. They cut me off."

In 2011, Travis moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career more seriously. He lived on friends' couches for around two years, Elite Daily reports.

17 His Real Name

via: instagram

Unlike The Weeknd, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, or Chance The Rapper, Travis doesn't have a name that immediately says: "This obviously isn't my real name." Travis' real and full name is Jacques Berman Webster II.

With people wondering if Stormi's "Webster" name is her middle name (it's not), it's probably time to learn how Scott landed the name he now uses. Speaking to Grantland, Travis revealed that his uncle was the inspiration behind Travis.

"He was like my favorite uncle," Travis said. As to the last name, it comes from him, too. "I was like, man if I wanted to be a rapper, I wanted to be this [guy]."

16 Rihanna's Friends Thought He Was A "Keeper"

via: BET

Everyone has a dating history. The Weeknd might be dating Bella Hadid, but he dated Selena Gomez before her. Kylie herself Tyga back in 2016. With so much focus on Kylie and Travis as a couple, not many people know about this guy's dating history. Travis dated Rihanna, Rubi Rose, Karreuche Tran, and Dascha Polanco from Orange is the New Black.

2015 saw Travis date RiRi in what E! called a "very serious" relationship. "He's very into her," the media outlet reported back then. "All of her friends think he is going to be the keeper." Looks like it wasn't meant to be with Ri.

15 "I Need Kylie With Me To Operate"

via: pinterest

The words that Travis Scott has for Kylie? All kinds of #RelationshipGoals. For all the cagey rapper vibes we might get from this guy's edgy photoshoots, it's when Travis sits down and talks about Kylie that our jaws drop. "Maybe, like the first week, you don't know if it's real or a fling," Travis told Rolling Stone in 2018.

"Then the second week, you're like, 'Whoa, I'm still talking to her, she's responding, I'm responding.'"

The relationship snowballed into full-blown love. "It got to a point where I was like, I need her with me to operate. She's the one," Travis concluded.

14 He Wanted A Boy

via: instagram

The whole "men wanting boys" thing has been around since the dawn of time. Back in the dark ages, men wanted a son to continue the bloodline and mark their status as a "real man." In many ways, that still exists.

"At first, I was like, 'Man, I need a son,'" Travis admitted to Rolling Stone. "When we found out it was a girl, I was like, 'Huhhh.'"

After Stormi was born, Travis' entire perspective changed. "I was like, 'Life is fire, bro.'" Travis straight-up told the magazine: "Yo, this might be the illest thing that ever happened," regarding Stormi.

13 This Guy Is Anything But Ordinary

via: instagram

Being a superstar comes with a superstar menu – the Kardashians eat at Nobu (and don't think they're scrimping on the sides). Oceanfront terraces and hotel brunches are available to anyone in the KarJenner circle, but Scott is a rarity.

"He hates restaurants; the man despises wasting time in restaurants,"

GQ reported when interviewing Kylie and Travis together in 2018. Travis also records his music in the dark, Boom Box reports. You might bunch Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Drake, and Lil Uzi Vert as "today's rappers," but Travis Scott is a different breed.

12 Thinks Kanye Needs To Chill

via: pinterest

Travis is signed to Kanye West's music label (and they go way back).

"First thing Kanye gave me was a Doritos taco from Taco Bell. He gave it to me on this [fancy] platter, like some Hermès [stuff,]"

Complex reports. Travis has his views on Kanye's statements, though: "I mean [...], I'd tell him, Bro, chill.," Billboard reported Travis saying about his mentor. Kanye takes pretty freely to Twitter with his rants. Travis stays well out of it. "That's family. You don't wanna desert yo bro," he said. Still, even Travis think Kanye needs to chill.

11 He Designed A Nike Shoe

via: instagram

Travis mentions Nike in his lyrics. Don't think that's random. The Nike Air Force 1 'Travis Scott' remains one of the best-selling Nike shoes in recent years – enough for High Snobriety to write an article entitled "Here's how Instagram is wearing The Travis Scott Nike Air Force 1."

Spot the Nike's on Stormi, here. "We about to be walking. OG 3's, I see u mama" was Travis' Instagram caption to a pic of him and Stormi.

This guy's swag has no limits. In 2018, Travis was signed as the face of the luxury French designer, Saint Laurent.

10 He Knows What He Likes

via: popsugar

Kylie fans will know that pepperoni pizza "with a little bit of oregano" is her favorite, E Online confirms. When Travis and Kylie were spotted in Houston getting pizza, the media outlet confirmed the pizza choice. If Kylie loves it, Travis is right on it.

When Kylie and Travis asked each other questions for GQ in 2018, we learned about Travis' favorite snack. He adores Kylie's peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

The secret, as MSN reports, is "smooth peanut butter, grape jelly, a specific, unnamed brand of bread," plus nailing the ratio. The media outlet also reported Travis liking them without crusts and cut diagonally.

9 Kendall Was A Fan Long Before Kylie

via: celebzz

There's something we didn't see coming. Back in 2015, Kylie was still in her late teens. Kendall was the one who first dug Travis' music. In 2015, Hollywood Life got snaps of Justin Bieber with Kendall Jenner and Travis.

Kendall attended Travis' first album listening party back in 2015. To put things into perspective, 2015 was before Kylie had even started dating Tyga.

When the older sister is digging the guy's music long before you knew he existed, it's always a good sign.

8 His Relationship With His Mother

via: vibzn

Celebs gifting their families nice stuff isn't new. The Rock is known for buying cars for his friends and family. Kanye gifted Kim a $14 million Miami condo for Christmas, The Daily Mail reported just recently. Travis grew up with an unemployed father and a mother who sold phones for AT&T. "My mom's disabled. I've never seen her bend her leg –  she's been on crutches my whole life," Travis told Rolling Stone.

In 2016, Travis bought his parents a new house for Christmas. He shared the sprawling property on Instagram. Now there's a guy who gives back (especially considering they cut him off).

7 He Admitted Being "Freaked Out"

via: youtube

"Sicko mode" might be the lyrics, but this guy knows when to put the raving aside. Kylie and Travis became parents to baby Stormi in February 2018. Speaking on The Ellen Show after the birth, Travis revealed that he was there for Stormi's arrival. "Going into it I was like, nervous and scared." Travis even admitted to being "freaked out" by the placenta, but he did cut the umbilical cord.

"When you have your baby in your arms, it's just like, uncontrollable,"

Travis told Ellen about the wave of love and emotion that took over when he first held Stormi.

6 "Butterfly Effect" Now Makes Sense

via: instagram

If you're a Travis fan, you'll know that "Butterfly Effect" is the 15th track on Astroworld. The butterfly links are everywhere with Travis, though.

In February 2018 (the month Stormi was born), Kylie and Travis got matching butterfly tattoos, In Touch Weekly reports. They're ankle tattoos and tiny, but the significance is huge.

Fast forward to Halloween 2018, and we got this butterfly outfit from Stormi. Kylie and Stormi wore matching outfits, and Kylie captioned the Instagram caption: "The butterfly effect." Clever, right?

5 433 Roses Because Stormi Was Born At 4:43

via: pinterest

This guy isn't short on the romantic gestures. In 2018, Kylie showed fans an Instagram story of her entire home filled with red roses and candles. We just sat there wondering if it might be a proposal.

"Flowers from Travis 2/5/18" was Kylie's caption to the 443 roses that filled her home following the birth of Stormi. As Cosmo reports, the number was specific – Stormi was born at 4.43 p.m.

This isn't the first romantic gesture we've seen from Travis. As per the couple's joint interview with GQ, we also know that Travis woke Kylie up at dawn to see the sunrise with "violin players everywhere."

4 His Thoughts On Tech

via: instagram

In 2018, Kylie shared a backstage Astroworld Snapchat of Stormi in the private room she has at every venue. "We don't let her out because of how loud it is back there, so she usually stays backstage and watches." That's probably the limit in terms of screen time for Stormi.

"Today kids are on iPads. There's so much technology, they don't play outside anymore. With Stormi – no TV. That TV [stuff] is out,"

Travis told Rolling Stone. While Kourtney and Kim have both spoken out about limited screen time, neither have mentioned a straight-up ban. Travis does things differently.

3 "People Don't Understand How Real My Girl Is"

via: usmagazine

People judge Kylie Jenner. They see her as a dolled-up, removed, spoiled girl with no concept of reality. While being "sad we never take out the Lambo" didn't go down too well on Life of Kylie, this girl has grown up.

"People don't understand how real my girl is," Travis told Rolling Stone. "They have assumptions, [remarks] of what they think is going on. Nah, bro."

Travis then called Kylie "the coolest." He added that what impressed him the most about Kylie is how "chill" she is.

2 "I Don't Like People In My Business"

via: globalgrind

Some celebrities are 100% about standing in front of the camera. Kylie is definitely one of them (although not with Stormi). Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton basically built their careers on being in the public eye.

"Me, I hate cameras. I don't like people in my business," Travis told Rolling Stone.

Looking at street pics of Travis, you definitely get the feel that this guy keeps himself to himself. Travis also isn't one to flaunt his relationship on Instagram. Travis and Kylie have done the odd magazine shoot together, but by and large, this guy keeps his cards close to his chest.

1 "I Never Knew I Could Love Something This Hard"

via: pinterest

Travis Scott has a bit of a badass image. The facial expressions, swag dress sense, and sick beats don't suggest a guy who bursts into tears. GQ's last question to Travis in July 2018 was: "When was the last time you cried?" Travis replied, "Yesterday."

That's round one. Travis admitted to crying when Stormi was born, too. "When my daughter was born. As soon as I heard her crying," Travis said about his own tears. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Travis said, "I never thought I could love something this hard."
