Here it goes again—Season 23 of ABC’s The Bachelor with Colton Underwood kicked off last week. The former NFL player, who was eliminated on Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette last year, met with 30 ladies competing to be Mrs. Underwood.
While The Bachelor is known for having contestants with weird job titles like "Cowgirl," the show also has its fair share of bizarre limo exits. The contestants on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette know they only have one chance to make a first impression, so they want to get it right.
Some of them have done things to stand out or impress the leading man or woman. There was a woman who dressed up as a sloth in Colton's season, for example. Many contestants who have made a grand entrance tend to only stay on the show for a few episodes, or they’re sent home on the first night. However, there have been others who ended up being the runner-up.

30 Unconventional: Clare Crawley Wore A Fake Baby Bump
When Clare Crawley showed up “pregnant” in Season 18 of The Bachelor, Juan Pablo Galavis said (via Today Show), “I’ve seen that before!” Clare then said, “I know you have a daughter, and I know you want more children, and I was thinking maybe adding to it!” She told him the baby bump wasn’t real when he put his hand on it. While her stunt might’ve been a bit strange for some people, Juan liked her. She was the first contestant he kissed, and she was the season's runner-up.
29 Unconventional: Lindsay Yenter Showed Up In A Wedding Dress
Lindsay Yenter was one of many contestants competing to be Mrs. Sean Lowe in Season 17 of The Bachelor.
She made quite an impression when she emerged from the limo in a wedding dress and asked Sean to slow dance with her (even tried to kiss him).
It was a bold move. Sean later told Us Weekly, “My first instinct was to run. I thought, ‘This girl is nuts!’" However, he fell in love with her once he got to know her. Lindsay ended up being the runner-up.
28 Unconventional: Adam Introduced Himself And Adam Jr, A Doll That Looks Like Him
During the premiere of Season 13 of The Bachelorette with Rachel Lindsay, Adam Gottschalk had one of the strangest intros. He ran up to Rachel with a doll that resembles him and said, “This is Adam Jr. He's super excited to be here tonight.” He added, "You get two for the price of one." Many fans were creeped out by the doll, and so was Rachel. When Adam and Adam Jr walked away, she said, “I like Adam. Not Adam Jr.” They were both eliminated in episode seven.
27 Unconventional: Alexis Waters Is The Dolphin/Shark Girl
Bachelor Nation fans know that it’s not unusual for contestants to make bizarre entrances to meet the bachelor or the bachelorette for the first time.
That being said, Alexis Waters exited the limo dressed in a "shark" costume in Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor.
There was a debate over her costume. Alexis, an aspiring dolphin trainer, claimed that she was wearing a dolphin costume while Nick and the show’s host, Chris Harrison, told her it was a shark costume. There’s no doubt that it’s a shark costume.
26 Unconventional: Alex D. Stepped Out In A Sloth Costume & Did Everything Painstakingly Slow
The Season 23 premiere of ABC’s The Bachelor with Colton Underwood aired last week. The former NFL player met 30 ladies vying for his heart, and one of the contestants who stood out was Alex D.
She put down her occupation as “sloth,” and she stepped out of the limo dressed as a sloth, saying "Hi Colton. I heard you take things slowly.”

25 Fairytale: Erin Landry Has 'Cinderella' Moment
Erin Landry channeled her inner Disney princess. She wore a light blue dress and arrived at the Bachelor mansion in a horse-drawn carriage. She greeted Colton Underwood with, “I’m here looking for my Prince Charming, so I really can’t wait to get to know you better. Come find me before the clock strikes midnight.” She even left her heels behind before going inside. According to her bio on The Bachelor site, her occupation is “Cinderella,” and she “works full time for her stepmother’s home improvement business." She also enjoys ballroom dancing.
24 Unconventional: JoJo Fletcher Emerged From The Limo In A Unicorn Mask
Many contestants have done things to stand out on The Bachelor.
JoJo Fletcher got out of the limo in a red bodycon dress and a unicorn mask to meet Ben Higgins.
She walked up to him and said, “Hi, so unicorns do exist.” Jojo finished the season as a runner-up; in the season finale, Ben told her, “I found love with you, but I found it with someone else more.” When JoJo became The Bachelorette, one of her suitors showed up with a “unicorn.”
23 Unconventional: Robyn Howard Flopped Trying To Do A Backflip
It’s exciting to watch the contestants’ limo exits on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette because they sometimes do things that are funny or weird to make a lasting first impression. Robyn Howard on Sean Lowe’s season wanted to impress him with her gymnastic skills, but it didn’t go well. She fell to the ground while trying to do the second backflip in a sparkly evening gown and heels. It was an awkward fall, but she got up really fast. Robyn was eliminated in week five.
22 Unconventional: David Ravitz Hoped To Find Love Wearing A Chicken Suit
While some of the men vying for Becca Kufrin’s heart was being romantic like when Ryan Peterson played his banjo and sang a song, David Ravitz stepped out of the limo in a fuzzy chicken suit.
He was flapping his wings and screaming, “BECCAW!” Basically, he was acting like a chicken.
He then walked up to Becca and said, “I’m not here to ruffle feathers, and hopefully we can build an eggselent relationship.” David’s also the guy who fell off the bunk bed during his time at the mansion.
21 Unconventional: Reegan Cornwell Gave Chris Soules A Cooler With A Fake Heart
Reegan Cornwell from Season 19 of The Bachelor with Chris Soules is one of many contestants in the franchise with an interesting job title—a “cadaver tissue saleswoman.” Moreover, she gave Chris a red cooler containing a heart. It was fake, but it looked real. People say you only get one chance to make a first impression, and it seems like Chris wasn’t impressed by Reegan, because he sent her home that same night. 20 Unconventional: Chantal O'Brien Slapped Brad Womack
Chantal O’Brien was the first woman to step out of the limo on Brad Womack’s second chance at The Bachelor. She greeted him in a very physical and not-so-positive manner and said, “That’s from every woman in America!”
She wasn’t the only contestant who was angry with his decision to reject both women during his first chance at The Bachelor.
Brad later told TMZ, “I think Chantal was just trying to make a statement about my past behavior and make a strong first impression, which she did.” Chantal ended up being the runner-up.
19 Fairytale: Alex B. Did The 'Love Actually' Card Scene
Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor is underway, and one of the most memorable limo exits from the premiere goes to Alex B. Love Actually fans will love what she did. She emerged from the limo in a sparkly green gown with thigh-high slit and showed cue cards that read (via PopSugar), “Hi Colton, unfortunately, I’m sick, but I wouldn’t miss this for the world.” Alex received a rose that night. We hope she gets her voice back so she and Colton can talk about their love for dogs.
18 Unconventional: Matthew Munson Greeted Rachel Lindsay In A Penguin Costume
Wearing a costume on the show can be a good idea or a bad one. Matthew Munson was one of the contestants competing on The Bachelorette to win Rachel Lindsay’s heart.
He showed up in a penguin costume to meet Rachel, and he wore that because he knew she liked penguins.
It seems like she did since he lasted pretty long on the show—he made it to the final six. Many fans didn't understand how he made it so far because they still didn’t know much about him.
17 Unconventional: Breanne Rice Slammed Bread On The Ground Because She Dislikes Gluten
Breanne Rice was a contestant on Ben Higgins’s season. The nutritional therapist stepped out of the limo with a basket of baguettes and said to Ben, “I don’t eat any gluten because gluten is Satan.” Then, she said, “Instead of breaking the ice, I thought we could break bread together." The gluten-disser slammed the bread on the ground and told Ben to join her. Did she buy the bread to do this?! After two unsucccessful marriages, Breanne was hoping to find love again, but unfortunately, Ben sent her home on the first night.
16 Unconventional: Carly Waddell Sang A Song With Her Pink Karaoke Machine
There were a lot of ladies competing to win Chris Soules’s heart, including Carly Waddell.
As soon as the cruise ship singer got out of the limo, she broke into a song with her pink karaoke machine.
She also wore a light pink dress. Although she didn’t win, she made it pretty far into the competition. It’s interesting to note that, her brother, Zak Waddell, finished fourth on The Bachelorette with Desiree Hartsock. He arrived at the mansion shirtless, showing off his chiseled six-pack.
15 Unconventional: Randy Woyak Dressed Up As His Grandma
In Season 16 of The Bachelor with Ben Flajnik, Brittney Schreiner brought her grandma to the mansion. Her grandma stepped out of the limo to greet Ben before she introduced him to her granddaughter. It was pretty cute. Randy Woyak took it to a whole new level when he dressed up as his grandma to meet Emily Maynard in Season 8 of The Bachelorette. It was odd (if not creepy). He quickly revealed himself, but he didn’t stick around for long. Emily sent him home the same night.
14 Unconventional: Ali Asked Arie Luyendyk To Smell Her Pit
Many ladies made race car puns when they met Arie Luyendyk Jr. on The Bachelor because he’s a race car driver.
The strangest limo exit was when Ali Harrington literally asked Arie to smell her pit.
She said (via Entertainment Tonight) she was “rushing today to get ready,” and asked him to “do a quick smell check.” Ali put her right arm up, and Arie sniffed her pit. Then, she asked, “Was that not the best pit stop of your life?” He didn’t say anything.
13 Fairytale: Wells Adams Brought An A Capella Group To Serenade JoJo Fletcher
Before Wells Adams began a close relationship with Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland, he competed on Season 12 of The Bachelorette to win JoJo Fletcher’s heart. His limo exit was super romantic and sweet. He knew he only had one chance to make a first impression, so he went all out. He brought an a capella group named All-4-One to serenade JoJo. Wells was the fan-favorite, but sadly, things didn’t work out between him and the bachelorette. However, they both found love with different people.
12 Unconventional: Amanda "Mandi" Kremer Had A Giant Paper Rose On Her Head
There’s no doubt that these ladies competing on The Bachelor want to stand out. Amanda Kremer, known as Mandi, emerged from the limo wearing a white dress and a giant paper rose on her head.
The dentist told Ben that she was wearing the “first impression rose.”
Unfortunately, the first impression rose went to Lauren B. It was awkward to see the rose on Mandi's head, but apparently (via Heavy), she “loves the weird” and “embraces the weird.” Also, gingivitis is a deal-breaker for her.
11 Unconventional: Chris Strandburg Drove A Cupcake Car
Chris Strandburg appeared on Season 11 of The Bachelorette where suitors had to choose Britt Nilsson or Kaitlyn Bristowe to be The Bachelorette. Chris wanted to leave a lasting first impression, so he pulled up in a cute cupcake car. It’s how he got his nickname “Cupcake.” The dentist told the ladies, “I normally tell my patients to avoid sugar, but I wanted to do something sweet for you guys.” Although he didn’t win, his limo exit remains one of the most memorable ones in the franchise.
10 Unconventional: Lacey Mark Rode A Camel To The Mansion
While there were contestants who have ridden a horse, Lacey Mark took a different approach.
The contestant rode a camel to the mansion on Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor.
She talked about her experience with the camel (via HerCampus); she said, “I was super nervous mostly because the camel was SO tall. Nick is tall, he’s 6 foot something, but the camel had at least another foot on him so I was kind of scared of falling when I slid down!” Nick helped her get off the camel.
9 Unconventional: Brianna "Bri" Barnes Faked An Accent
Brianna “Bri” Barnes walked towards Colton Underwood and said, “So nice to meet you.” He said, “You’ve got a nice accent! Where are you from?” She pointed to her mouth and said, “Um, the accent, it’s Australian. I was hoping that you’re kind of a sucker for accents. I didn’t know what you’d think about it.” Colton said he is. During Bri’s talking head interview, she admitted, “I’m not really [from Australia], but you have to do what you can to stand out.” She didn’t technically lie, but it’s still weird what she did.
8 Unconventional: Shawn E. Pulled Up In A Hot Tub Car
In Season 11 of The Bachelorette with Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe, Shawn E. ditched the limo and pulled up to the mansion in a hot tub car to impress the ladies.
He wore a suit, but when he stepped out of the car, it showed that his outfit was wet from the waist down.
There’s probably a reason he wanted to drive a hot tub car. According to his bio on ABC’s site, he said his ultimate date would involve a spa together, for example.
7 Fairytale: Lindzi Cox Entered The Show On A Horse
Contestants who make grand entrances don’t usually stay on the show for long, but Lindzi Cox finished Ben Flajnik’s season as a runner-up. Lindzi got Ben’s attention when she entered the show on a horse wearing a black dress and a helmet. She received the first impression rose. The two seemed so in love and happy, but it wasn’t her who Ben proposed to at the season finale. It’s been almost seven years since Lindzi’s limo exit, but it’s one we won’t forget.
6 Unconventional: Brett Melnick Is Known As The "Lamp Guy"
It’s an interesting story how Brett Melnick, who appeared on Andi Dorfman’s season of The Bachelorette in 2014, became known as the “lamp guy.”
Brett’s mother always told him never to greet a woman empty-handed, so he (apparently) stole a lamp from his hotel room to give to Andi at their first meeting.
Normally, guys would buy flowers or chocolate, but to each his own. After Andi sent him home, Brett later showed up with a lamp again on Bachelor in Paradise.
5 Unconventional: Maegan Miller Made An Entrance With Her Mini Horse On A Leash
Maegan Miller was one of the contestants hoping to find love on Ben Higgins’s season of The Bachelor three years ago. The self-proclaimed cowgirl made an entrance with her mini horse on a leash. Ben later talked a little about the ladies’ limo exits with Glamour, and one of the things he mentioned was, “There was that mini horse that walked down the driveway, and I didn't expect that.” Maegan didn’t win his heart on The Bachelor, but she definitely made a lasting first impression.
4 Unconventional: Trent Jespersen Jumped Out Of A Hearse
Sure, there were contestants who ditched the limo to drive a cupcake car or ride on a horse.
But Trent arrived at the mansion in a hearse. We’re not kidding.
He literally jumped out of a hearse and said to Becca Kufrin, “Oh my gosh, Becca, when I heard you were the Bachelorette, I literally died. But then you brought me back to life!” His intro was good enough to get a rose on the first night, but Becca sent him home in the second episode.
3 Unconventional: Lace Morris Stole Ben Higgins's First Kiss
When Lace Morris and Ben Higgins met for the first time in front of The Bachelor mansion, she surprised him with a kiss. Lace said (via Cosmopolitan), "I wanted the first kiss and I just couldn't resist it!" It was a bold move, but she stole his first kiss on the show! It was unfair to Ben and the other contestants. Bachelor Nation fans didn't like it, either. Lace later asked Ben if they could kiss again, but he politely rejected her.
2 Unconventional: Isabel "Izzy" Goodkind Sported A Onesie
Isabel “Izzy” Goodkind ditched the dress and sported a onesie on Ben Higgins’s season of The Bachelor. She told him, “I had to find out if you were the onesie for me.”
Ben didn’t think they had chemistry, so he sent her home on the first night.
However, during The Bachelor: Women Tell All, Ben told Chris Harrison (via Entertainment Tonight) that “he had no regrets with how things went on the show… except wouldn't have sent Izzy home on the first night.”
1 Fairytale: Tony Pieper Arrived Carrying Glass Slippers
Tony Pieper carried a glass slipper on a pillow on Emily Maynard’s season of The Bachelorette. He said to her, “The name's Charming, Prince Charming.” Emily tried on the slipper, and when it was a perfect fit, Tony said, “I think I've found my princess.” He received a rose that night. Emily wrote a blog on People magazine site, “As [Tony] walked away he made me realize how much I want the fairytale ending and how this time I really hope the glass slipper fits and I find my Prince Charming!”
